Cold Heading: Head

Our cold heading equipment is an open die process, unlike closed die headers, we can process material up to 5” in length with automatic feed and even longer in hand feeding mode. In this operation material is displaced to form the cold formed shape.

Cold heading produces a part that looks like a nail, is often used in applications that need an end stop such as in a spring loaded braking system. This process is not only durable, but also very economical.
